Doula Services

Included in our contract are:

  • up to two in person consultations during the third trimester, at least one of which should be in your home. During our current restrictions related to COVID-19, I will arrange virtual meetings for anyone who would prefer to keep social distancing,

  • phone and text consultations as needed during your pregnancy,

  • continuous emotional and non-medical physical support during your labor and delivery:

    • Planned Home Birth: $800-1000, depending on childbirth classes and placenta encapsulation options. I will meet you in your home to assist with early active labor, help you determine when to call your midwives**, and will stay with you throughout the birth of your baby. After the birth, I’ll make sure you have eaten, I can assist with your baby’s initial breastfeeding, if desired, and make sure that you fully understand the instructions from your birth team.

    • Planned birth center birth birth: $1200-1600, depending on childbirth classes and placenta encapsulation options. I will meet you in your home to assist with early active labor and help you determine the best time to leave, and then join you at the birth center or hospital for the duration of your labor and delivery. I will assist with initiating breastfeeding, if desired, make sure you have eaten and showered, and that you’ve received complete answers to all of your questions before leaving.

    • a postnatal visit in your home approximately 7-10 after birth, to include lactation support if desired. This meeting can also be virtual in any instance necessary.

Additional, optional services:

  • Placenta Encapsulation: $200. In the event that a birth doula client would like placenta encapsulation services, our postpartum visit will take place around day 3 when I bring you your encapsulated placenta pills.

  • Childbirth Education classes: $250. I offer a one to two session comprehensive course based on my training from Commonsense Childbirth. These classes are private and on your timeline.

  • Referral services: complementary. Our relationship doesn’t end with our contract. If you find, down the line, that you could benefit from pelvic floor therapy, a PPD/PPA therapist, nutrition guidance, chiropractic care, massage therapy, or any other service, I will help you find just the right person for your needs.

*I believe that anyone who wants a doula should have a doula, so if this pricing doesn’t fit your budget, please contact me to discuss a sliding scale, we will find a way to make it work for both of us, or I’ll help you find a doula who can.

**If you are interested in speaking with a home birth midwife, I know some amazing women who will answer all of your questions.
